The Hauler can accept ads in many forms: typed with regular photographs,
email with electronic photos, and on disks of various kinds. To
make the process smooth, please follow these guidelines. The quality
of your finished ad is directly dependent on the quality of the
submitted materials.
1. Written descriptions should be complete, clear, and accurate.
We prefer them typed, but handwritten is acceptable if it is clear
and legible. If you are sending copy on disk, almost any word processer
is acceptable if you save the text in ASCII. Please indicate clearly
which description goes with which photo by numbering both the description
and the photo. (Description 1 goes with Photo 1, etc.)
2. Photos should be large, clear, well-exposed, and with a minimum
of background distraction.
3. Electronic photos should be at a resolution of 300 dpi and in
the TIFF (.tif) format. If you are taking the photos with a digital
camera, be aware that on most cameras, the regular settings of 72
dpi and JPEG (.jpg) format give obviously inferior results.
Please take care to name your photos with your company name
or some abbreviation of it. Remember, we receive many photos, and
the standard automatic names the cameras provide are the same for
everyone. We MUST be able to find YOUR pictures among all the others.
4. Ads on disk laid out in a page layout program are acceptable,
but they must be in QuarkXpress for Macintosh or they may have to
be re-created at a cost to you. Be sure to include all graphics
and fonts used in the ad, as well as a color printout.
5. The preferred way for us to receive your ad is as a PDF. This
ensures that your ad cannot be altered.
6. Questions? Call or email your ad rep listed above and he or
she will be happy to help you.
